The Riddler, Edward Nygma, is a villain from the Batman universe who is an enemy of Batman. Writer Bill Finger and artist Dick Sprang created this character and it first appeared in the detective Comics no. 140 in October 1948. He is known for his green question mark signed costume and domino mask in purple color either in a business bowler hat and suit with his special question mark shaped can and a skintight catsuit. The Riddler is fascinated with word games, puzzles, and riddles. He feels pleasure in warning the Batman and the police of his adventures by sending both of them the difficult clues in form of riddles.

Edward thought he would commit the crimes of puzzling. He always fix the conflict of wits between the law and him so that he could always win. He turned to set out infamy and crime as the Riddler, donning a costume of green color that was covered with question marks.
How Riddler’s Costume Evolved by Time
The Riddler started to wear a bowler hat and variation of the suit in the late 1980s, often alternating between the more subdued suit and the leotard carried multiple question marks across his suit. The color remains the same as purple and green.
The Riddler wore a different costume in the 1990s in two major multimedia variations. In Batman Forever, Riddler was given a mask of domino and a bright red hairstyle. In the Animated Series Batman, the Riddle changed the costume, the question mark was removed and one was not replaced a large one on his tie which he served as his logo.
Before the New 52, Riddler tried to combine the leotard and suit appears into a single costume.
