Rodent Infection can be terrifically dangerous. Fleas and strokes can bite rodents and then bite a human, passing on diseases without any direct contact to rats or mice in your home.

What is Rodent Infection:

Rodent carries abundant types of diseases, bacteria, parasites, and viruses that are considered to be dangerous to humans. Rodent infestation can infect the whole member of a family at the same time. The infection can be caused by the consumption of contaminated food by rodent’s excrement.

Early-stage symptoms may include fatigue, muscle pain, and fever. Muscle pains are particularly in the areas including thighs, hips, back, and shoulder region. Late symptoms include severe coughing and shortness of breath that happens as the lungs get filled with fluids. Late symptoms occur after the initial stage of infection, i.e, four or ten days.

Lassa-fever or Lassa Hemorrhagic fever (LHF) is a deadly disease. It is caused by the Lassa virus and is spread by infected rodent urine.

Symptoms start after seven days of infection. Fever, weakness, and headaches are common symptoms. There are three forms of Plague:

  • Bubonic form: Swelling of lymph nodes.
  • Septicemic form: Tissues turns black and die.
  • Pneumonic form: Shortness of breath, Chest pain, and Cough.

Signs of Impending Rodent Infestation:

As the autumn season get-go, rodents are beginning to seek protection and comfort inside the homes. So the question is, How to tell if you have Rodents at home?

  1.  Bite or Chew marks: Make sure to notice the small bite and chew marks on furniture, cardboard, clothes, etc. Mice or rats generally chew these things to squash their teeth.
  2. Reeking odour: When the rodent dies, reeking and intolerant smell spreads. In case this happens, make sure to use gloves and masks while cleaning on your own or call pesticide control.
  3. Footmarks: Make sure you observe tiny footprints that make a track.

Prevention from Rodent infestation can be helpful when you don’t shelter mice and rats at your residency, try to seal the broken holes from your house to prevent mice and rats to enter your house. Clean your house and dispose of garbage regularly and have pest control in two or three months.
