Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is a Japanese manga series that has been written by the duo of Ukyō Kodachi and Masashi Kishimoto, with illustrations being provided by Mikio Ikemoto. The series began with Ukyō Kodachi as writer while Masashi Kishimoto served as the editorial supervisor, however, when Kodachi stepped down from the role in November of 2020, Masashi Kishimoto took over as writer.
Initially, the series was published in Weekly Shōnen Jump, Shueisha’s weekly shōnen magazine before being transferred to its monthly magazine, V Jump, in July of 2019. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations is widely considered by many manga readers to be one of the most popular manga series. The storyline of the series serves as a sequel and a spin-off to the events of Naruto.
Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Premise
As mentioned earlier, the series is a follow-up to the events of the popular manga series Naruto and follows the exploits and quests of Boruto Uzumaki, the son of Naruto Uzumaki. The series starts off with Boruto in his teenage years, during which he is part of a ninja team along with Konohamaru Sarutobi, Sarada Uchiha, and Mitsuki.
Boruto is angered at the fact that his father places the village before his family, and also aims to impress him. When Sasuke makes his way back to the village to notify Naruto of a threat, Boruto urges him to train him for the Chunin exam, in a bid to impress his father. This kicks off the proceedings for the remainder of the series.

Chapter 61 of the popular manga series is scheduled to release on August 18, 2021, with the print version scheduled for August 19, 2021.
