Google’s Pixel may have gained face-based Auto-Rotate featuring Android 12

Android is the world’s most used operating system. The Android operating system runs on billions of tablets, smart devices and TVs. Android will soon be launching its updated version Android 12. It comes with exciting and highly-personalised new features.Android 12 is expected to introduce an optional, face-based version of Auto-Rotate to Pixel phones, according to details given by 9to5Google. Using this feature the front-facing camera, in effect, of the phone will check if someone is looking at the screen, and if so, which way their head is turned.

A simplified version of the face-shape-recognition capabilities are used by apps like Snapchat and Google Duo. The same technology is supposed to be used by Android 12’s Auto Rotate feature. This camera-based search will take place entirely on your computer for privacy reasons. It will not save or send any picture anywhere.Google's Pixel may have gained face-based Auto-Rotate featuring Android 12

Android 12: What to expect

The list of expected Android 12 features is not very long. As for planned features, Google will introduce a simplified one-handed mode, which will help users with smaller palms better use their tall phones, in Android12. In the Android universe, there are hardly any smartphones that can really be classified as ‘compact’, so this feature should help the Android users.

Smart auto-rotate feature which evidently uses the front camera to determine the location of the head of a user and automatically rotate the screen is also in the list of new upgrades. Android 12 can also provide a better, more stable setup for gaming mode, which will be available on Android phones as default going forward.
