Several members of Congress are advocating for fourth stimulus checks, and possibly more, because many Americans are facing financial problems for more than a year after the outbreak began. However, after President Joe Biden signed his $1.9 trillion COVID relief package into law, the long-awaited third stimulus cheques — worth up to $1,400 — are finally on their way to Americans’ bank accounts and mailboxes.
However, there are no plans for fourth stimulus checks. However, millions of people in need are appealing for additional help to pay their bills and pay off debt. A bipartisan group of senators is battling to keep the money flowing. A fourth, and maybe a fifth, direct payment is being discussed in Congress.
Democrats on fourth Stimulus Checks
Over 80 members of Congress have written letters to President Biden encouraging him to maintain recurring payments for the duration of the crisis. Seven members of the influential House Ways and Means Committee recently wrote to Biden, requesting that the continued aid be included in his new package of family support.
Furthermore, about 2.25 million people have signed an online petition created by an unemployed Denver restaurant owner calling for new $2,000 stimulus checks for individuals and $1,000 payments for children. Following that, routine checks would be conducted for the length of the pandemic and all this for fourth stimulus checks.
Will there be a fourth Stimulus Check?
At the moment, a fourth stimulus checks appears to be a bit of a gamble. Despite telling Congress in late April that direct payments have “made all the difference” for many people, President Biden has not indicated that he wants to see more. His press secretary told reporters that stimulus payments are “not free” and that lawmakers must determine whether or not to provide more.
For the time being, Democratic leaders are emphasising the new stimulus payments that will be mailed to American families beginning this summer. As part of a temporary increase of the child tax credit, parents who qualify will receive monthly payments of up to $300 per kid from July through December.
The goal is to finish both bills before the end of the summer. As a result, there may still be time to include regular stimulus payments in the families package, as House Ways and Means Committee members have suggested. A fourth stimulus check is unlikely to arrive anytime soon, if at all. However, if you require additional assistance, you have various options for establishing financial breathing room on your own.
