The latest of Huawei’s pioneering foldable phones has recently been released — the Huawei Mate XS 2. It has been so long since the Huawei Mate line’s last release that many people had thought they had been discontinued! However, Huawei wasn’t going to give up on their groundbreaking model line that quickly, and it should be no surprise that they’ve followed it up with a second-generation phone — even if it took a while to get here! We’re going to break down the features of the Mate XS 2 to give you all the information you need.

A significant difference between these phones compared to regular folding phones is that they fold the “opposite” way. Rather than the foldable screen opening like a book, the Mate XS 2 has the foldable screen at the front of the phone, which wraps around to the back. If you’ve not used the old model, this could take a bit of getting used to, but pioneering ideas such as these set Huawei apart from its competition.

If you’re considering purchasing the Mate XS 2, we hope you’ve been saving up because this is one of the most expensive phones on the market. Costing £1700/$2700, it represents a significant purchase for most people, but does it live up to its lofty price tag? One of its best features is its display and design. It’s both larger and thinner than the rival Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3; 7.8″ when open compared to the Galaxy’s 7.6″, and 5.4mm thick compared to the Galaxy’s 6.4mm. The quality of the display is also spectacular, with a 120Hz OLED screen and a resolution of 2200 x 2480 pixels. Screens like this are perfect for gaming, and on modern phones such as this, you can even alter the settings to get peak gaming performance from your device. As you’re using the same screen, whether, in tablet or phone mode, you get the same fantastic quality however you use it.

Another great aspect of this phone is its camera technology. Huawei has been known to be an industry leader in understanding how people experience camera technology, and the Mate XS 2 is no different. It boasts a 50MP primary camera with an f/1.8 lens. It also has a 13MP ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 lens and an 8MP telephoto camera with an f/2.4 lens. Huawei has also added a punch-hole camera on the screen, allowing users to take selfies/make video calls without opening the phone.

Inside the phone, the Mate XS 2 runs with a Snapdragon 888 4G processor and 8GB of RAM. While this may not be the best chipset currently on the market, there is more than enough power to do everything you’d usually do, such as browsing Facebook, watching movies, or playing online games which require a lot of processing power to keep up with the fantastic designs and animations. The phone’s technology and stunning display are popular amongst gamers and gamblers alike, as they are able to be a part of their favorite virtual worlds, play the top thrilling games and even place live bets on their favorite sports teams, all on a device with optimal graphics and minimal lag time. Online slot games in particular are a favorite amongst fans of this phone, as the fantastic designs and animations pop off the screen thanks to the phone’s spectacular display. You’ll be able to play plenty of classic Vietnamese casino games instantly, such as Sic Bow, Pai Gow, and Dragon Tiger. The best online casino and sports betting sites will even give welcome bonuses to new players, giving you more chances to win. However, with so many great sites to choose from in Vietnam and all over the world, you should research each site before choosing your Asian bookmaker, known as “nhà cái châu a“. Whichever site you sign up to, the Huawei Mate XS 2 will have no problem running any traditional or live game you wish to play.

Eagle-eyed readers may have spotted that the chipset was a Snapdragon 888 4G, not the 5G model you see in most phones. This is due to sanctions placed on them by various countries, mainly those in the West. This means that European and American buyers won’t have access to 5G technology, which is not what you want from a phone that costs over $2500. The Mate XS 2 also does not have wireless charging, unlike similar models such as the Z Fold 3, but it has a slightly larger battery.

Overall the Huawei Mate XS 2 is a powerful phone that is let down by the sanctions placed on the company. Coupled with an extremely high price tag, it’s hard to see many people going for this in the West. However, if 5G were on the table, it would be well worth considering.
