Edens Zero is an anime series that has been written by Mitsutaka Hirota, and directed by Shinji Ishihara and Yūshi Suzuki. It is based on the manga series of the same name, which was released on June 27, 2018 and continues to this day. The manga has been written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima.

The decision to adapt the manga into an anime series was announced on June 12, 2020, and the series premiered on April 11, 2021. As of this point, the series has one ongoing season with 18 episodes thus far, and the 19th episode is just around the corner. Season 1 is expected to have a total of 25 episodes, the last of which would air tentatively on September 26, 2021.

Premise

The series is set in a universe inhabited by humans, aliens and sentient robots, and where spacefaring is prominent. The plot follows a protagonist by the name of Shiki Granbell, a human Ether Gear. He lives on Granbell, where he befriends Rebecca Bluegarden and her companion Happy, both of whom are space travelling B-Cubers. After being forced off Granbell before their batteries die, the three of them set out on a quest to find ‘Mother’, who according to a fable is supposedly the Goddess of the cosmos. During the course of this quest, Shiki acquires Edens Zero, a warship which is an inheritance from his grandfather figure. What transpires ahead on this quest forms the remainder of the storyline.

Episode 19 of the series is scheduled to release on August 15, 2020 at 12:55 am JST, and as of now there seem to be no discrepancies or delays in the schedule. Fans wishing to view the series and the episode can do so through Netflix in regions such as North America, Mexico, Europe, Brazil, and the British Isles.
