People’s magazine was first published in 1974 under Meridith Corporation. People’s has it’s own website as People.com where they share news about entertainment and human interests. Magazines headquarters are in New York City and it’s editorial bureaus in Los Angeles and London.
Readership
It has the readership of almost 46.6 million adult. People has the largest audience in comparison with any other magazine in America. It had $997 million for advertising, which is also the highest.
World-wide Popularity
People’s magazine gained popularity soon it published in the year of 1974. In 1996, it launched a magazine in Spanish language named People en Español. Initial idea for this Spanish language magazine was that it only contains the content translated from English magazine will be their in Spanish one. But later, People en Español came to have entirely original content and different from the English magazine.
In Australia, the local version of magazine, named ‘Who’ published under People.
Indian edition of People published in 2008. Later in 2013, they decided to close down the publication.
In September 2016, People launched the People/Entertainment Weekly Network in collaboration with Entertainment Weekly.
Teen People
In 1998, magazine introduces a new version, specifically for teens, named Teen People. But soon, in July 2006, company decided to shut the publication of this version. The last magazine published under this title was on September 2006.

Magazine is best known for its “yearly special” names. It gave the title of “World’s Most Beautiful”, “Best & Worst Dressed”, “Sexiest Man Alive” and “International Sexiest Man Alive”.
Magazine always gave recognition to Americans. In the year 2020, Michael B. Jordan selected as world’s sexiest man alive.
But for the first time, in 2020, it held a nomination for International Sexiest Man Alive. Jeon Jeongguk, from the kpop boy band Bangtan Sonyeondan, won this title. South Korean Jeon Jeongguk beats Canadian actor Dan Levy, Australian country singer Keith Urban, Welsh actor Matthew Rhys and Irish actor Paul Mescal to win.
