Grant Amato, a 30-year-old Florida man, was found guilty of murdering his parents and brother after they attempted to break up his connection with a Bulgarian webcam model he met on an adult website. Grant Amato was also found guilty of three charges of first-degree murder for the deaths of his parents, Margaret and Chad Amato, and his brother, Cody Amato, by the jury. Grant Amato got fascinated with a cam lady named Silvie, to the point where he stole $200,000 from his father and brother to seem affluent and thriving in the eyes of his romantic interest.
Amato used to spend his money on extravagant presents and clothing on the model. His family, however, quickly uncovered the robbery. The Amatos subsequently sent Grant to a behavioral rehabilitation center, but he dropped out and returned home. His parents also told him that he could only remain at their place if he broke up with the model. Grant Amato agreed to his father’s restrictions at first, but he didn’t think they were fair because he believed the Bulgarian woman was his girlfriend, and they were dating.
Grant was likewise over heels in love with Silvie, and he wasn’t just in love with her; he was obsessed with her. On the 24th of January 2019, he killed his family for this reason.
Punishment For Grant Amato
The Court’s Jurors, however, chose not to sentence Amato to death. After his first-degree murder trial, the 12 jurors decided against recommending the death penalty for murdering his whole family; Grant Amato would have to spend the rest of his life in prison.
