Amber Heard was accused by her Ex-husband Johnny Depp of faking her bruises and injuries and also having cheated on him for Elon Musk or James Franco. The two of them first met in the sets of the movie: ‘The Rum Diary‘, which was released in 2011. They officially became a couple in 2012 and got married in 2015 in Los Angeles. She filed for their divorce a year later after her marriage and it was finally made official in 2017. Since then, both Heard and Depp have made several accusations of physical and emotional abuse against each other for years.
The Amber Heard side of the story
Amber Heard has denied any accusations related to fabricating her bruises and injuries and having an extra-marital affair with Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk or Actor James Franco.
The Court testimony first began on Monday that is; 7 July 2020, where the 34-year old accused her ex-husband Johnny Depp of physically and verbally abusing her while he was constantly being in a state of alcoholism and doing drugs during their married life. She also made the statement in the court that ‘she was so petrified of her ex-husband that she thought that she might even die’. Heard also allegedly stated that Depp once threw a phone at her “like he was a baseball pitcher” and also on that same evening, hitting her on the right cheek and eye.
In the written testimony which was released by the court, she stated that she was punched, slapped, kicked, head-butted, and was choked by the 57-year old Depp. She then added by saying: “some incidents were so severe that I was afraid he was going to kill me, either intentionally or just by losing control and going too far.” She said that she was threatened by Depp, by saying that he will kill her many times during the latter half of their relationship. She even said that Depp referred to his actions on her as a self-created third party which he called “the monster.”
She told the court that she very much loved Johnny Depp when he was himself and was under his control but was terrified of him when he lost his control to alcohol and drugs and became what he referred to as “the monster”.
The Johnny Depp side of the story
The 57-year old actor, famously known for his role ‘Jack Sparrow’ was accused by his ex-wife Amber Heard of physically and virtually abusing her. The reports stated that he was consistently bingeing alcohol and drugs and that he even threatened many times of killing her. Heard accused Depp of physically abusing her by showing her injuries and bruises on her face and body to which Eleanor Laws, Depp’s lawyer showed several clips of an elevator at the couple’s Los Angeles apartment building that showed Heard fabricated injuries in the days after an incident on May 21, 2016. After seeing the clips, Heard told the court that it was a false video and that she was really injured. The Hollywood star strongly denies abusing Heard and was at the court to hear his ex-wife.
Depp accused her that she also was an abusive wife. According to Depp’s reports; she was accused of filing false allegations against him and that she was cheating on him with Elon Musk. He had subpoenaed Musk’s texts with Amber as part of his defamation case against her. And also, because of all these allegations, Depp lost his franchise ‘The Pirates of the Caribbean’ to which he felt disappointed.
Depp also accused ‘The Sun’ newspaper over an article published in April 2018 that labelled him “wife beater” for allegedly abusing Heard. He sued The Sun’s publisher, News Group Newspapers, and the paper’s executive editor, Dan Wootton, over the article.
The conclusion
The High Court judge refused to dismiss Depp’s lawsuit against Heard, allowing him to proceed with a claim that she defamed him through a Washington Post opinion piece and he was allowed to pursue his $50 million defamation suit against his former wife and actress Amber Heard. Other than that, the 57- year old Hollywood star “did not receive a fair trial” as the high court ruling that stated he assaulted his ex-wife Amber Heard and put her in fear for her life.
